Birthday Present: Necklace with Crochet Beads
Remember the necklace I made for my cousin for Christmas? Well, my sister saw me making that one and liked it, so I thought I’d make one for her in colours she likes (blue and orange are her favourites) as a present for her birthday yesterday. She was quite delighted when she unwrapped it!
These beads were made by adapting my own pattern, Net Effect Baubles, changing it to make it smaller and using metallic embroidery thread (Gütermann metallic embroidery thread W331 in 41 Silver for the inner ball, and 36 Copper and 483 Petrol for the outer net) instead of DK yarn - a little more fiddly to work with but produces a lovely daintiness to the beads. The chain and pendant clasps (obviously not crocheted!) can easily be found in multipacks on sites like Amazon.
Comment below if you’d like me to make these beads their very own pattern, or make patterns for beads in general, so you can use them in your own jewellery making! In the meantime, why not have a look for other crochet bead and jewellery patterns to make?
Happy Crafting!
