Valentine’s Day Flowers
Throughout my life, more so as I’ve gotten older, Valentine’s Day has been a day to celebrate all kinds of love, not just romantic. I like to take this day as an opportunity give just a little something to people I care about, and who care about me 😊
As such, I have spent the past week making each of my family members their favourite flower for Valentine’s Day! I left them on the dining room table in a little glass like this for them to find.
The rose for my dad (right, light pink with dark pink edges) and the sweet pea for my mum (centre, mid pink) were made with patterns from the book All-New Twenty to Make: Flowers to Crochet by Sarah-Jane Hicks, pages 22 and 32 respectively. The fuchsia for my sister (left, purple and white) was made with a video pattern from YouTube, Crochet Fuchsia flowers by Jovelyn Crochet. The stems of all three were made by wrapping yarn around craft wire and using material glue to hold the end in place.
Why not have a go at these patterns yourself, and make your own gifts for the special people in your life?
Happy Valentine’s Day from Koalamea Crafts!
